Swell Mural
Imperial Beach, CA
Sarah consulted on color and design throughout the development of this 50 unit apartment complex. Honoring the surf culture of this beach neighborhood, Sarah collaborated with Olympic Gold Medalist, and professional snowboarder and surfer, Lindsey Jacobellis to bring the visual concept to life. The two murals of Lindsey duck diving are connected with a giant ocean swell that sweeps across the front of the building.
Sarah hand selected 27 colors and bird motifs for thirty distinct accent locations throughout the property. These elements tied in the “retro surf” branding of the remodeled building and created a visual extension of Sarah’s mural throughout the property. From base stucco color, to trim accents throughout the property, Sarah helped maintain a cohesive color story.
To finish the project, the client’s new logo was hand painted in two prominent locations of the apartment complex.
