This painting from the dolls series is one of my earliest Electric Realism paintings.  “Reflection” is the first self portrait I created upon returning from studying in Italy and discovering my “Electric Realism” style.  During my travels, I became obsessed with the idea that people are constantly interacting with their environments, letting culture reflect onto them and imposing their beliefs and experience onto their environments.  I created this self portrait with a pink glint in my eye and pink glitter “reflecting’ off of my hands as an exploration of the societal forces that are reflecting off of me.
